I followed Ram Dass for many years. Whenever he spoke where I was, I attended. I also was strongly attracted to Hindu philosophy and religion. Back in the 60’s and 70’s, he was another person like me trying to work it all out. He’d have valuable insights from the stage and then fall back into confusion offstage, only to emerge again with new insights. Then love, devotion and compassion became his anchor. His desire to stay unceasingly loving and compassionate made mindfulness essential. The combination and his delight in sharing them is a gift for which I’m grateful.
