I don't think wearing a mask invalidates trust. The virus has no moral capacity so it can't choose not ot infect anyone. Nor can the other person Frank walks past can't choose to keep the virus to himself due to his slight familiarity with Frank. I wear a mask because I don't care to catch the virus. I know it's not 100% protection. I appreciate seeing others wearing masks. We're doing our cicic duty.
