A Man Who Didn’t Believe

People Divided by Method

Today I met a man who didn’t believe in God.
In earlier life he belonged to a strict religion.
It promoted belief in a long list, including hell.
Now there’s a long list he doesn’t believe and
It’s the same list, including hell.
He needs a new list, right?

It was a memorial for a wonderful man,
An engineering mind, a great organizer.
By email, he had sent us a list telling
Exactly how we could work together.

We insisted on visioning and letting
Spirit show what it was already
Doing through its creation,
As best we were able to catch it.
Then we could be in harmony
With what was already in play.

Everyone loved him. He didn't know
What to do with us open-hearted
Visionaries, performers, lovers of music.

That man who needs a new list
Reported that our first event had music.
And that was unsettling to them.
Our methodology was foreign.

The greatness of the man memorialized
Was that he could allow it, listen and see.
Because we are two groups of loving people
With different methods, distinct paths
To shine the light inside us all.
